Why Use A Private College Counselor?

bulletTo save time during the college search process. We do some of the “ leg work” and make sure you are organized in your search and stay “on track”. This is especially welcomed when parents are going through the process for the first time, both working or when the student is very involved in their high school academics and activities and has limited time to concentrate on fully researching college options.
bulletTo provide or supplement the college search guidance and advice that students may or may not be receiving at their high school or at home.
bulletTo capitalize on the private college counselor’s experience, background, knowledge and expertise in areas that may be unfamiliar to the student or parents. Private counselors can spend quality time educating you further on such topics as financial aid and test requirements.
bulletTo receive individual attention during the college search. A private counselor is dedicated to you and your success – from making the right college choice, to selecting a major and personalized coaching through the maze of selecting courses, testing, writing essays, completing applications, interviewing and identifying scholarship opportunities.
bulletTo save money. “ Isn’t it an expense to hire a private college counselor?” you may ask.  Just as we invest in our children’s music and dance lessons, academic tutoring and sports training in order to provide them the best opportunities, so should we invest in laying the groundwork for their college years.  Consider the current national trends:
bullet1 out of 3 college students leave the college where they started
bullet6 out of 10 students change their majors before graduating
bullet5 out of 10 college students require five or more years to earn their degree

With quality and professional coaching, students can avoid being one of these statistics and clearly “set their compass” and make appropriate choices every step of the way!
